Eglise Saint-Pierre – Cayeux-sur-Mer

The old church was too far away from where fishermen lived and worked. It was therefore decided to rebuild it near the place where fishing boats docked and where the catch was auctioned.

About

The church you see today, dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle, began life on 3rd August 1902. It was built thanks to a former industrialist, Mr Black, who generously gave of his time to ensure that the people of Cayeux had a new place of worship. This vast church can accommodate nearly 500 people. It has some noteworthy stained glass windows, statues and an organ (built 1903) in perfect working order.
