Prieuré d’Airaines

Founded in 1130, this priory was burned down in 1422. The restored buildings, now housing a cultural centre, are listed historical monuments.

About

Adjoining the convent building (16th century) which every year houses exhibitions of works by great 20th century artists (Alechinsky, Braque, Manessier, Miro, Soulages), the church of Notre-Dame du Prieuré is the oldest religious building in the Somme department. In 2020 there will be an exhibition of works by a great 21st century artist: the sculptor Christian LAPIE.
