Every time I go past “slow riders” winding along the Baie de Somme’s roads and paths, there’s just one thing I want to do: join them.

They look like they could go to the end of the Earth…

There’s a free and wild side to steadily covering large distances with disconcerting ease and stopping from time to time just to gaze at the beautiful scenery, then setting off again like nothing had happened…

Well, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is here, it’s my turn to join the wild adventure!

Sébastien from Randotrike has asked us along for a ride this morning!

The pack of pedallers is made up of Céline and Pascal (Les Portes du Hâble B&B), Maxim (Baie de somme nature guide) and his partner Marie.

We start at the Maison de la Baie de Somme car park, get the Fattrikes ready and head off for a 2 hr adventure…

These little monsters can cover any terrain! Just a few hundred metres after we set off we’re already in 4×4 mode! Hitting the tarmac from time to time is nice too as you can ride without thinking and just lose yourself in your thoughts…

You quietly soak up the area’s natural treasures as you glide through the myriad landscapes. And seal watching is another highlight of the trip. The “gâteau battu” snack break hits the spot as you really work up an appetite!

With the Pointe du Hourdel before us, lying back in our rolling deckchairs, we close our eyes and soak up the spring sunshine. Sébastien tells us he often dozes off for a nap…

Honestly, we all absolutely loved it!:)
