Vélorail de la Baie de Somme

The Vélorail de la Baie de Somme is a new activity offered since 2023 in the Baie de Somme by the Association du Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme, departing from Cayeux-sur-Mer station.

It's an outdoor activity for families, couples and friends that lets you take full advantage of the landscape... An environmentally-friendly way to get around, you travel at a rate of 15 km/hour, on the former Chemin de Fer Départemental known as the "Réseau des Bains de Mer".

Meet up at Cayeux-sur-Mer station for a one- or two-hour ride through the quiet countryside of the Baie de Somme backcountry.

The vélorail ride is an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding countryside in complete tranquillity. During your ride, you'll discover the bas-champs (areas reclaimed from the sea for cultivation). In the distance, you'll see the Brighton lighthouse and the cliffs of Mers-les Bains.

We offer 2 round-trip routes: from Cayeux-sur-Mer to the Halte de Hurt since 2023, a 1h15 round-trip, and new in 2025, from Cayeux-sur-Mer to the Gare de Lanchères, a 2-hour round-trip.
